Data Recovery

What is Data Recovery?

Data recovery is the last option to recover deleted, lost, corrupt, or damaged files.Data recovery encompasses all aspects of recovering bits of data, ranging from automated data recovery software that revives files from the dead; to emergency data recovery service performed in a clean room environment.

Disk recovery experts are well versed in the special technologies and techniques necessary to extract raw data from failing storage devices, including but not limited to: replacing read/write heads and related components, drive image, and decoding. Data extraction enables a hard drive recovery specialist to run a disk recovery tool such as a Hex Editor to reconstruct the system components.

File recovery focuses on rebuilding files and folders to their original state.

Data recovery software features multiple modules designed for more challenging recoveries. The software has automated functions like file recovery, partition recovery, and file repair; and may contain more complex operations like drive access, drive repair, sector cloning, network imaging, and Hex editing. When advanced recovery software procedures fall short, in-lab data recovery services are necessary.

Hard drive recovery is data recovery service but the focus is on the device. Since disk drives were the first, and still are the primary storage media, a lot of people just naturally say hard drive recovery for all situations. However, since new, more convenient removable devices to store data have been made, such as the IPod, USB Flash Drives, and so forth, hard drive recovery is starting to be less common.

In the coming years hard drive recovery will probably change to flash drive recovery.
